The Splintered Empires: The Eastern Front 1917-1921
This is an excellent book about the end of World War I on the Eastern front. Not only does the book include detailed accounts of Kerensky's last-gasp offensive, the implosion of the Russian military and state, and the Treaty of Brest-Litovsk, but also detailed coverage of the "pygmy wars" in Finland, the Baltics, and Poland that erupted as WWI drew to a close. As usual, the author includes numerous fascinating quotes from participants of various nationalities. Truly a unique book covering this period.
