Having read the author's books on Barbarossa and Kiev, I looked forward to this volume as well. And indeed, the book is interesting and well-written. That said, unlike the five-stars I gave his previous books, I am giving this book only four stars, for two reasons:

1) The points made in this book are essentially the same as in his two previous books; ie, the enormous logistical and other problems faced by the Germans had not gone away, so there are not many new insights, just the old insights extended to Typhoon.

2) I was disappointed that the book only covers through the end of October, rather than through the end of the German offensive. While the book can't be called short (429 pages), it seems that with tighter editing a longer book could have covered through the end of the German attack.
