While rather dated and written without the benefit of the several succeeding decades of research, this is a good history of the Russian civil war. Given its publication date, the book has a refreshing contemporaneous feel--almost like newspaper reporting--and the author is generally objective in describing the various combatants. True to the book's title, the book provides very little detail about the White's various Red opponents.

The book also includes an interesting chapter about the fate of various White Russians after the civil war (through the book's publication anyway) and a good bibliography which includes numerous Russian sources.
