This is a pretty good book about a fascinating topic, as described in the book's title. I have one of the first edition prints, and it includes a lot of excellent photographs from Northern Russia and Siberia. This book has more of a military focus than most of the books on this topic, and describes several of the actions involving US troops. The book also includes quite a few interesting anecdotes by US service members which I hadn't seen in other books.

Negatives include the fact that the book is a bit unfocused--dealing with the Czechs, the US in norther Russia and the US in Siberia. Also, the book is written in a pretty old-fashioned style, if that makes sense.
